Topsail Island Attractions | Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue & Rehabilitation Center

The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital is in a state of the art turtle rescue center with over 13,000 square feet. The primary purpose of the facility is the care and rehabilitation of sick and injured sea turtles. Visitors can view magnificent loggerhead sea turtles, green sea turtles and perhaps even a rare Kemp's Ridley turtle while learning about the history and the problems each turtle faces. Visitors will also learn about the feeding, treatment and predicted release dates of the turtles. The center opens for visitors from March -July with varying hours (please visit their website for hours as they can change). The center is not open to the public at other times of the year, and it may close without notice in the summer for emergencies. The center operates with an all-volunteer staff and therefore is open on a limited basis. Due to the center's popularity, it is best to arrive early and order your tickets online before your arrival.  *Please note tickets are limited to 15 per time slot* if you have a large party please schedule in advance and see their seaturtlehospital.org website for details.
